In California just drive an hour in any direction and the scenery and weather changes.
Lucerne Valley gets chilly in the winter, down in the 30's at night, and hot in the summer in the low 100's at times.
For the last couple of years we have a snow flurrie here and there.
Lucerne Valley has a sign coming into town that says, "Lucerne Valley a town with character(s)", and that is the truth. Everyone in Lucerne valley has a story to tell. Alot of the older residents have been here for decades, and some families for generations. The Chamber of Commerce, the Lucerne Valley Market and the Janice Horst Library all have great books available for those who want to know about the history of this little town.
There are several mines here as well. Mitsubishi Cement, Speciality Minerals and OMYA are all located here.
